

Larry Leon Cottrill, age 72, of Texarkana, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. Larry was born August 19, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio a son of Leon and Irene Cottrill, both United States Military Veterans. Growing up, Larry lived throughout the United States and Japan.
Larry was an alumni of Cal Poly Pomona from 1967-1971 and University of Washington from 1973-1975 where he obtained his Masters Degree in Urban Planning.
Larry was employed with Orange County EMA, TRW Ballistic Missile Division, and Dana Point Planning commission, where he was awarded "Man of the Year" in 1979. In 1985 he became the Assistant Deputy Director of Planning and Research at the Port of Los Angeles and eventually retired from Port of Long Beach California as Director of Master Planning.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Cottrill; daughter and son-in-law, Morgan and David Neal; step daughters Deidre and Kelly McAdams, stepson Joshua Cottrill, and three grandchildren, Trinity Neal, Brooklyn Neal and Keira Neal.
Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, April 7, 2022 at East Memorial Chapel - Moores Lane. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of East Funeral Home - Moores Lane.
Following the committal service at Shiloh Cemetery the family will return to East Funeral Home-Moores Lane reception room for a meal and welcome any friends that would like to come by and visit and share special memories.
