Martha Ervin Berry

Martha Ervin Berry, 88, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013 in a Houston Nursing Home.

Mrs. Berry was born May 13, 1925, in Henderson, KY to the late Alonzo and Bessie Blevins. She was raised in Johnston City, IL before spending most of her life in Texarkana, TX. She was an active Christian and a member of First Baptist Church, Moores Lane. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star and a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, having served as president several times of the City Council. Everything aside, golf at Northridge Country Club was her passion.

Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by two husbands, Dr. W. O. Ervin and Norman H. Berry, a daughter Catherine Ann Ervin and a brother Alonzo Blevins, Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Douglas L. Ervin (Pat) and Richard D. Ervin (Peggy) and one daughter Debra S. Lively (John). She had 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday at the East Funeral Home-Downtown and funeral services will be 11 am Saturday at East Funeral Home Chapel-Downtown. Burial will be under the direction of East Funeral Home.
