Mrs. Wood was born January 28th, 1944 in Texarkana, Arkansas. She was a retired educator after many years of service.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law; Renee and Jerry Misenheimer, son; Leroy Simmons Jr. and son and daughter-in-law; Dennis and Charlena Simmons.
Also left to cherish her memory are seven grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and her two sisters Loretta Cates and her husband Earl Ray and Sheila Kay McKeever.
Family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 12th, 2025 at East Funeral Home-Downtown.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday, October 13th, 2025 at Shiloh Cemetery with Rev. Jay Wollman officiating.
