

Mr. Short was born Jan. 10, 1937 in Milton, TX. He was a registered Professional Engineer, owner of Cardinal Engineering and a member of Williams Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Texas Tech University with a B.S. in Engineering, a Mason and Shriner. He had been active in the Homebuilders Association, Texas Onsite Wastewater Asso., American Cancer Society, Boy Scouts of America, Four States Fair Association, March of Dimes, Noon Kiwanis, Texarkana Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce and the famous Sazarac Club. He was appointed by Governor George Bush to the Texas Onsite Wastewater Research Committee and was the voice of the Pleasant Grove Hawks football team for KTWN Radio.
Survivors include his wife, of 41 years, Erma, three sons and daughter-in-laws, Duane and Tammie Short, Terry and Jamie Short and Mike and Vicki Short. Sister and brother-in-law Doris and Terrell McDowell. Four grandchildren, Lauren Short, Dillon Perry, Stoney Baker and Destiney Webb. Beloved neices and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Williams Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Wayman officiating. Services are under the direction of East Funeral Home, Moores Lane. A private family burial will be in East Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be at 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at East Funeral Home, Moores Lane.
