Ruby J. Hopkins

Ruby J. Hopkins, of Texarkana, TX, age 92, passed peacefully in her sleep on July 7, 2016. She was born January 25, 1924 in Nashville, AR. She lived in Texarkana, TX and retired from GTE after 20 years as a telephone operator.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Merchant and her second husband, Roy D. Hopkins; her parents, George Peirce Brock and Josie Clara Knox Brock; and her daughter, Sharon Ann Hopkins Plunkett.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George R. and Cathy Merchant; her daughter and son-in-law Karen Hopkins Scott and JB Scott; grandchildren, Tod Merchant and Chad Merchant; great grandchildren, Lenzie Merchant and Trey Merchant and Jaxon Merchant.

In honoring her wishes, a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Sims officiating. Burial is under the direction of East Funeral Home - Moores Lane.

Family will receive friends at the cemetery from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday prior to the service at the cemetery
