Shirley was born on May 31, 1945, in Texarkana, Texas. She married the love of her life, Calvin Court, in 1968 and they shared fifty-four wonderful years together. Shirley was a devoted mother to her two children and an active member of Fellowship Bible Church. The joy of Shirley’s life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionally called her “Mi”. Shirley’s love for the Lord, witty sense of humor, and thoughtful, kind heart made her a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Oletta Bearden.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin Court; daughter and son-in-law, Ceci and Chris Warren; son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Terri Court; sister, Ruth Hawks; grandchildren, Carly Kelly (Trevor Kelly), Connor Court, Cara Anne Court, Luke Lacy, Lane Lacy, and Lawson Lacy; and great-grandchildren, Genevieve Lacy and Rowan Kelly; along with a number of other cherished family members and close friends.
A graveside service celebrating Shirley’s life will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 4:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery officiated by Dr. Richard Hornok. Services are under direction of East Funeral Home.
