Beth was born in Buffalo NY on March 23, 1958, to Thomas and Doris Mogle. Beth was the middle of three children, older brother Steven and younger brother Bruce.
Beth attended Williamsville South High School and graduated in 1976. After high school Beth attended College for a career in nursing and became a Registered Professional Nurse in 1982.
In 1983, Beth moved to Houston, Texas where she took a position with Medical Center Del Oro as a staff RN in the spinal cord injury unit and later with Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center as a staff RN on the Medical/surgical unit. Later that year Beth married Jim Nagel (WNHS/76) on December 30, 1983.
In 1986, Beth & Jim moved to Northern Virginia and in 1989, Beth gave birth to their son James (Jamie) Nagel II. During this time Beth continued working as a RN in various capacities; hospital staffing RN for medical/surgical patients with Upjohn Healthcare Services, staff RN in Critical Care Unit with Reston Hospital Center, staff RN in the Intensive Care Nursery with Georgetown University Hospital, Pediatric Home Health RN for ventilator dependent twins with Continuum Nursing Services, and as a staff RN in the post operative care with Reston Hospital Center.
In 2006, the family moved to Charlotte, NC where they lived there for the next 7 years. Beth worked at the Novant Medical Center where she was a staff RN assisting in prep and post operative care for adults and pediatric patients.
In 2013, Beth & Jim moved to Dallas, TX, Beth worked as a staff RN assisting in post operative care in the surgery unit at the Surgery Center of Plano until she retired from nursing in 2019 after 37 years.
Beth & Jim moved to the Houston area in 2021 to start construction of their retirement home on Lake Livingston.
Beth was a dedicated nurse with that special ability to care for others and treated each patient with respect and care under stressful conditions.
She loved to cook, and Christmas time was her favorite time of the year. All of her friends and relatives looked forward to receiving her legendary Christmas cookies. She especially loved decorating the house with her Dickens Villages, Snowmen, and Santa Clauses.
Beth was a die-hard Bill’s & Sabres fan and would watch every game she could. Her co-workers at Reston Hospital Center would call her No-work Sunday because she had to watch the Bills games. She loved to travel, spend time with friends at the Lake, and play games. Beth spent the last three years designing her dream home on Lake Livingston . She couldn’t wait to sit on the patio, look out over the water and watch the sunsets with friends and family. Halfway through the construction of her new home Beth was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. She started treatment right away and fought courageously. She lived in her new home for 4 months, but unfortunately passed away just shy of her 66th birthday.
Beth is survived by her loving husband Jim, son Jamie, brothers Steven & Bruce, brother-in-law Joe & wife Mary, and numerous nieces & nephews.
Beth will always be in our thoughts and forever in our hearts.
