

Bruce James Blue, age 66, passed September 12, 2010. Bruce is survived by his son, Brian; his daughter and son-in-law Bethany and Pete Chirico; mother Bernice; brothers Dennis, Tom, and Dan; sister Mary Jane; beloved nieces and nephews; and countless friends. He joins his wife, Cathleen Blue, and father, Harry. He was a solid and steadfast presence to all those who needed him, and he will be missed for his sense of humor and devotion to country.
Bruce was born and raised in Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio, but has lived in The Woodlands, TX for the last 23 years. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati, he proudly served as a Naval Aviator on active duty and in the Naval Reserves from 1967-1993. He flew commercial aircraft for New York Air and Continental Airlines from 1981 until his retirement in 2003. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and football fan, with a strong allegiance to the UC Bearcats, Ohio State Buckeyes and Franciscan University of Steubenville Barons.
Visitation and praying of the rosary will be held from 6 until 8 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at St. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in The Woodlands at 1 pm on Thursday, Sept. 16. Burial at Arlington National Cemetery will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests a donation in the name of Bruce and Cathleen Blue to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Fund.
