After graduating from Bellaire High School, Carmen attended Sam Houston State University. She had a career in the oil and gas industry, working for Columbia Gulf and Columbia Gas Development. Carmen enjoyed playing Mah Jongg. A huge fan of baseball, she loved watching the Astros.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Alice Myres; and husband, Gary Reed.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristi Chestnut; husband, Robert; grandchildren, Porter and Reily Chestnut; stepdaughter, Donna Patranella; granddaughter, Ashley Patranella; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Reeder, and husband, Brad Reeder; grandchildren, Blair and Bailey Reeder; stepson, Michael Reed and fiancée, Joe Summerlin and family.
A memorial service will take place on Sunday, September 17, 2017, in the chapel of Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. Immediately following, friends are invited to greet the family during a reception in Forest Park’s event room.
