

Carol grew up in a loving home in Kansas City, Missouri with her adoptive parents Phreada B. and Henry E. Lang. Later moving to Houston, Texas where she achieved becoming part of the Insurance Women of Houston in 1965. During her insurance journey she broke many glass ceilings, later becoming a successful commercial insurance agent. Her presence was known from Houston, Austin, Dallas, and later Magnolia, Tomball, Huntsville, and Livingston. Throughout her business journey she learned perseverance, strength, resilience, vulnerability, and patience.
The traits that Carol learned throughout her informative years, she passed on to her children Ann E. Harper, Patricia H. Franklin and Julie M. Jesperson. She loved her children very much and taught them how to be kind, respectful, strong, resourceful, and leaving room for them to each follow their dreams.
Carol was married 3 times Raymond Harper, James Thomas and Keith O. Gilbert Sr. when she married Keith Sr. she acquired three step children Donna, Keith and Stephen Gilbert.
Carol is preceded in death by her adoptive parents Phreada and Henry Lang, her 3 husbands including the love of her life Keith O. Gilbert Sr., brother Bernard Lang, daughter Katherine Thomas, and many other in-laws, nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by her recently discovered biological mother and father Gwendolyn and Donald Aiton.
Carol is survived by her 3 daughters and their spouses; Ann E. Harper, Patricia H. and Terry Franklin, Julie M. and Corby Jesperson; her grandchildren and their spouses; Misty and Michael Blythe, Joseph Mittelstedt, Shabd Khalsa, Kristen Smith, Kara Reyes and Jonathan Van Bever, Christopher and Nicole Jesperson, her stepchildren: Donna L. Gilbert/Williamson, Melisa and Keith O. Gilbert Jr., Stephen L. Gilbert, and many grandchildren, Sister in-law Donna Koonce, and many nieces and nephews.
Carol is also survived by: Recently located biological brother Bruce and Myat Htway Aiton, sister Marge Judd, sister-in-law Cheryl Smith and many more nieces, and nephews.
Carol lived a very fruitful life with many layers of family and friends.
