Clayton Laird Jr.

Clayton Laird, Jr., of The Woodlands, Texas entered into eternal rest March 3, 2024, at his residence. Clayton was born September 5, 1931, in Imperial, NE. He was the son of Clayton Lewis Laird and Faye Mintling Laird. Mr. Laird received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska. Clayton married Lois Ann Plummer June 6, 1953, at Congregation Church in Bangor, Maine. They were married 64 years prior to her death. The family moved to Houston, TX in 1960.

Mr. Laird was a Geophysicist, having worked for Texaco, Longhorn Oil, and Weeks Exploration. Clayton loved being a geophysicist and told many stories about his work experiences as a geophysicist to his family and caregivers while in hospice. Mr. Laird was an active member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.

Clayton is predeceased by his parents, Clayton Laird, Sr and Faye Minting Laird, his beloved wife Lois, sons Alan and David and his sister Byrdine Grimm McCall. He is survived by his brother Scott Laird and wife Patty, daughters Laura Faye Laird, Lisa Laird Cooper, daughter-in-law Annette Draszkiewicz Laird; grandchildren Elise Cooper, Kaitlyn Laird, Danyelle Senti and husband Sam, and Clayton Laird. Great grandchildren Victoria Salas, Dominique Salas, and Jeremiah Salas. Nieces, Tobie Craig and partner Guy, Becky Andrews, Kim Kunmemann and husband Seth, Kayla Griffiths and husband Nathan, nephew Russ Grimm and wife Liz. And several great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Holly Moren and Aracelia Alonso for helping with Clayton’s care at home while in hospice.

A memorial and committal service for Clayton will be held Friday, March 22, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384. A reception will follow. Services will be livestreamed.
