Debbie was born on October 19, 1951, in Long Beach, California, the oldest of three daughters born to Dolly Petersen. Her sister Katherine welcomed her to her eternal home.
Left to cherish Debbie’s sweet memory is her husband of 30 years Randall Darr; her daughter Rachael and son Andrew; her mother Dolly and grandson Logan. She is also survived by her sister Denise Casetta and many extended family members whom she held very close.
Debbie grew up in Orange County, California, and graduated high school there to go on and pursue her passion for caring for others by getting her nursing degree at Montana State University. While there, she met the love of her life Randy. They were married and began a whirlwind life of traveling and living multiple places including overseas following Randy’s career in the oil industry. She loved travelling to amazing places including Egypt, Europe, New Zealand and Africa most of all where she loved the baby elephants. But her real passion was caring for others, through continuous hospitality and humor and a natural ease at befriending people. Finally they moved to Calgary, Canada where they happily resided until 2009 when they moved to Houston to be close to their children and grandchild.
Debbie was a dedicated member every church they belonged to in various countries throughout their journeys, serving as a Sunday school teacher and choir member. She and Randy joined Crossroads Baptist Church following their move to The Woodlands. During her 10 year battle with breast cancer she was an inspiration to us all. Debbie’s life was richly blessed and she abundantly blessed the lives of everyone she met. Her 59 years of loving, giving and caring for others and living out her heavenly Fathers love will bring joyous rewards in Heaven!
A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Forest Park the Woodlands on Thursday, November 18th at 2:00 PM.
