He married Cynthia Bauhs on May 22, 1970 and boasted fifty-five years of marriage. Together they raised three children and created a loving happy family. This was truly Ed's proudest achievement.
Ed spent seven years of his youth in the Air Force, eventually serving as an air traffic controller for five of those years. At the start of 1982 Ed and Cynthia established their business, Armstrong McCall, which became one of the leading beauty supply stores in North America. The couple successfully operated their company for forty years. During that time, Ed made many friends with whom hunting trips were planned and many great memories were made.
Throughout his life Ed was known as a loving, honorable family man. His generous spirit and compassionate heart endured in all he did, for both his family and any animals who happened to cross his path. From dogs to raccoons to pigeons, Ed was constantly taking on the husbandry and rehabilitation of animals in need.
Grandpa was Ed's most loved title. He answered to many things, but nothing brought him joy like his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his father, William Eugene Harmon. He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Harmon; his wife, Cynthia Harmon; his children, Eddie (Michelle) Harmon, Jon (Mindy) Harmon, and Kim Harmon; and grandchildren, Kyle Harmon, Katie Harmon, Kaden Harmon, Karsen Harmon, Karter Harmon, Tristyn Young, Aubrey Young, and Avery Young.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Abandoned Animal Rescue in memory of Ed's life and sincere love for all animals.
