Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Jacqueline Pagan de Rodriguez and Luis M Rodriguez Lebron, Eduardo was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.
He leaves behind his siblings: Alberto L Rodriguez (Janice) of Mendon, MA; Jorge J Rodriguez of Old Forge, NY; and Ricardo Rodriguez (Gayle S Saks-Rodriguez) of Pittsfield, MA.
He is survived by his partner, Matthew Batchelor, of West Houston, TX.
He was a cherished uncle to Lauren Rodriguez-Getz (Joel Getz) of Old Forge, NY; Molly Rodriguez-Kobylski (Ken Kobylski) of Pennfield, NY; Alex L Rodriguez of Salem, MA; and Daniel RI Rodriguez of Hamden, CT.
Eduardo was a vibrant and generous soul with a contagious laugh and a warm embrace. He collected friends wherever he went, cherished his relationships, and was known for his incredible cooking, especially his beloved Latin dishes.
Those who knew Eduardo remember the unique warmth of his hugs. It was said that he hugged with his whole soul, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he embraced.
Eduardo's 41-year career in the airline industry spanned USAir, Continental Airlines, and United Airlines, where he worked in various locations including Utica, NY; San Juan, PR; Chicago, IL; Milwaukee, WI; and Houston, TX.
A true adventurer, Eduardo traveled the globe, visiting every continent and countless countries. Eduardo fulfilled a lifelong dream of visiting Antartica, which was a highlight of his life. His passion for travel was only surpassed by his deep love for animals, particularly dogs.
He dedicated himself to numerous dog rescues in the Houston area, providing loving care and fostering countless dogs until they found their forever homes. His own home was a sanctuary for rescued dogs, including Dino and Bella(bother and sister), Jack, Louie, Agnes, and Vince.
He was a member of the Classic Chassis Car Club Houston, showcasing his passion for classic cars with his 1984 Oldsmobile Toronado Caliente and 1985 Cadillac Eldorado.
Eduardo will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Though his absence will be felt profoundly, the memories of his kindness, his laughter, and his zest for life will forever bring comfort and joy.
A celebration of life will be held in Houston in April. His remains will then be interred in Puerto Rico alongside his parents and grandparents.
