It is with profound sadness that I share the passing of my beloved father, Eugene C. Pacelli, who left us on May 18, 2024 at the age of 84. A resident of Spring, Texas, Eugene was originally born in Newark, New Jersey, to Mary and Vincent Christopher on May 25, 1939. Eugene graduated from Weequahic High School and attended Princeton University for two years. He left college and enlisted in the United States Army, which led to a future passion for antique gun collecting.
Eugene's professional journey was marked by significant achievements. He held managerial positions in renowned banks such as Chase Manhattan Bank and BCCI, which provided him with opportunities to travel the world and foster his appreciation for cultural diversity. Later, he ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing his own business and computer consulting agency, GENPAC, which secured him independent contracts across the nation.
Eugene was vivacious, quick-witted, and often the creator of controversy within a heated debate. He had an uncanny ability to remember minute details, dates, and historical facts. His true talent was in numbers, which granted him acceptance into Princeton University. In his former years, Eugene was as handsome as he was intelligent, often referred to as "handsome but shy." He was usually buried in an engine bay, whether a boat or automobile, which led to his love of classic cars.
Eugene was passionate about giving back and donated to various charitable organizations and non-for profits. He was a member of the NRA, the 100 club, and Sheriffs Association.
Eugene was preceded in death by his kind-hearted sister, Bernadine. His loving spirit is carried on by his son Gene-Paul, two grandchildren, Emma and Elina and his ex-wife Carmela, who remained a lifelong friend.
To honor Eugene's memory, a service will be held at Shooks Funeral Home in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St Jude's, Shriners Children's Hospital, Special Olympics, Wounded Warriors, or Make-A-Wish Foundation. These charities were very close to Eugene's heart.
