Fidel Lara Flores

Fidel Lara Flores (87) of Spring, Texas went to his Heavenly Father on October 13, 2016 and joined his beloved “Hon”, Alice, who preceded him in death. F.L., as some friends affectionately called him, was born on August 22, 1929 in Floresville, Texas where he grew up. His parents, Frederico and Manuelita Flores, preceded him in death as well as numerous brothers and sisters. He was married to his wife, Alice, for nearly 64 years. Fidel is survived by his children Louis and his wife Cindy, and Loretta (Lorrie) Parise; five grandchildren Ashley McCarty and her husband Brady; Travis Kyle Flores and his wife Victoria; and Collin, Megan and Brandon Parise; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Alexis McCarty and Tyleigh Flores. He is also survived by three sisters and one brother - Lucy Guerra, Benita Montoya and Gaspar Flores of Floresville, Texas and Lillie Flores of Pleasanton, Texas. He is also survived by his loving dogs – Muffy, Minnie, Mister - and his cat, Noche. The viewing and Rosary will be held at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands 77384 on Tuesday, October 18 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 19 at 12 noon at St. Edward Catholic Church, 2601 Spring Stuebner Rd., Spring 77389. After the mass, a military burial will take place at 2:00 pm at the Houston National Cemetery, followed by a reception “Around the Kitchen Table”.
