George D. Houser, Sr., passed away on October 12, 2024 at home in the presence of his family. He was born in Springfield, Missouri on May 21, 1932 where he lived briefly until his family moved to Kansas City, Missouri.
George worked for 30 years at the Gas Service Company in Kansas City until he retired. He went into business for himself, creating GEHOCO, custom upholstery, which he maintained until 1989.
George met the love of his life, Petra Leon, whom he has remained with for 75 years. George and Petra have five children, Frances(Jesse), Margaret (John), George(Susan), James(Melissa) and Gayl(Bernard). Thirteen grandchildren: Patrick(Jessica), Sean(Michelle), Matthew(Maria), Petra(Keith), Cory(Gabe), Amber(Michael), Erin(Mark), Jesse (Ariana), Amanda(Matt), Jill(Allen), George(Jill), Johnathan(Jessica), TJ(Beth); Twenty-seven great grandchildren, Gauge, Gunnar, Landry; Peyton, Riley; Cody, Isaac, Isabella, Eleora; Emerson, Violet; Caleb, Layla, Zayden; Nate, Aadric, Breeaunna; John, Benjamin; JJ; Calen. Everleigh; Jackson, William; Jayden, Jaybrea; Leo and Remmy. With three Great-great grandchildren, Zariah, Gideon and Brantley.
George spent his life adoring his wife, loving his children and grandchildren, each of whom knew they were his favorite. George was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ora Houser, his two brothers, Robert and Benjamin, Sons, James and George, Jr., Grandson, Jesse Rogers, Son in Laws, John and Bernard.
The funeral service for George will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 12 p.m. in The Grand Hall of Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to a reception at The Weatherford's home, 235 Starlight Place in The Woodlands, Texas 77380, immediately following the service.
