George Everitt Perry

George Everitt Perry, 78, of The Woodlands, Texas passed away Saturday, December, 18, 2010. George was born February 2, 1932 in Matthews, Texas. He was a volunteer fireman who was instrumental in the development of the Deer Park Fire Department. In 1977 he received the “Fireman of the Year” Award. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce, in 1989 after a lengthy illness. After retiring from Oxy, he married Mary Norris of Alvin in 1992. Settling in The Woodlands in 1998, George was employed at Randall’s where he enjoyed meeting all of the customers. In 2009, George received the President’s Award from the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department for lifetime achievement.

George is survived by his two sisters, Ruby Lee Overton and Edna Nix. Mr. Perry is survived by his wife of 18 years, Mary Perry; son, Mike Perry (Amy) of Dayton; daughter, Denise Greene (Tom) of Deer Park, stepdaughter, Justine Crabbe (Mark) of The Woodlands; stepson, Pat Norris (Bernice) of The Woodlands. George is also survived by grandsons; Steven Perry (Courtney) with great-grandson Hunter; David Lahman, Wes Crabbe, Michael Crabbe, Will Crabbe, Luke Norris and John Norris. He is survived by granddaughters; Samantha Perry, Kayla Greene (James Skeen); and niece, Rebekka Wall (Bill), great nieces, Anna and Krystal.

The service will be Wednesday, December 22, in the Robb Chapel at The Woodlands United Methodist Church, 2200 Lake Woodlands Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77380. The service will be led by Reverend Rob Renfroe and the Deer Park Fire Department. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the chapel service at 10:00 a.m. Fellowship and refreshments will follow in Aldersgate Hall until 12:30 p.m. The Deer Park Fire Department will conclude the ceremony in the fountain area. There will not be a funeral procession to the cemetery. The graveside service will begin at Lakeside Cemetery on Lakeside Drive (FM102) in Eagle Lake at 4:00 p.m.
