Glynn graduated from McMain High School in 1940 and went on to work at the Army Corp of Engineers where she met the love of her life John “Johnny” James Gaffney after the end of World War II. They married in December 1948 and lived in their beloved New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina hit the city in August of 2005 when they relocated to The Woodlands to be near their daughters.
Glynn was an avid gardener, seamstress and homemaker. Late in life she took up the hobby of painting in watercolors. She loved traveling to near and far places with her beloved Johnny and spending precious time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Johnny, daughter; Colleen Adorno, identical twin sister; Gloria Varnell and sister; Marion Jones.
Glynn is survived by her brother; Leon Gordon Barnett Jr., daughter; Dianne and husband Henry Holmes, daughter; Eileen and husband John Escoto, son-in-law; Earl Martin Adorno, grandchildren; Erin Adorno Ross, Matthew Adorno, Caroline Holmes Le, Patrick Holmes and three great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 11am, Thursday, July 26, 2018 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 7801 Bay Branch Dr., The Woodlands, TX. Interment will follow at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, 18000 I-45S, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Silverado in The Woodlands where Glynn spent the last year of her life. Their love and kindness made her happy and peaceful. The family would also like to thank Silverado Hospice for their loving care in her final days.
