Greg grew up in South Houston and attended Milby High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Sam Houston State University in 1978 and later studied Accounting at the University of Houston in 1984.
On January 4, 1986, he married Emma Delmarene (Del) Owen Rundell. Together they raised their family in The Woodlands and built two businesses, Noble Continuing Education and GeeWhiz Real Estate School.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Faye Rundell and E.C. Rundell, and by his sister, Rebecca Lynn Rundell Trullinger. He is survived by his wife, Del; his children, Chelsea Maurene Rundell Williams and her husband Austin Randal Williams and Travis Martin Rundell and his wife Maria Luisa Escudero Rundell; and several nieces and nephews.
Greg loved adventure and shared that love with his children through hikes and treks to Machu Picchu, the Grand Canyon, Kilimanjaro, Patagonia, and Everest Base Camp, to name just a few. He often did what others didn’t think he could do.
He was also a collector of art, books, and autographs, and he delighted in finding unique items at auctions to add to his collection.
Greg was a lifelong learner. Austin introduced him to ChatGPT, and he enjoyed it so much that he used it to explore nearly every question that came to mind. Travis introduced him to writing songs using Suno, and Greg wrote several songs you will hear today. He truly loved creativity and learning.
Greg and Travis also built a beautiful live-edge coffee table together—one more project that reflected Greg’s curiosity, patience, and pride in making something lasting.
In recent years, our family was grateful for special time together. We traveled to London for about ten days, seeing the sights and enjoying being together. Greg and Del also took a wonderful beach trip to Grenada. We were blessed to welcome Maria into our family, and Greg treasured the time he spent getting to know her, including working alongside her. Greg brought more joy to our lives than we can express. We love him, and we will miss him dearly.
