Jacqueline Stubbs passed away September 11, 2016. She was born in Bothell, Washington, on May 29, 1932. She lived in the Seattle area, attending the Cornish School of Fine Arts and the University of Washington until marrying Raymond Cooper Stubbs on April 24, 1954.
Jacqueline was a prolific artist and teacher, showing her work and winning awards in galleries nationally and overseas. She was also a mother, grandmother and dedicated navy wife living on both coasts and twice in Japan. Her passion for creativity lives on in her son through music, her daughter through design, and her granddaughter through writing.
Jacqueline and Cooper retired in Midland, Michigan, where they lived for 30 years and were very active in the arts community. In 2012, they moved to The Woodlands, Texas, to be closer to family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed in 2013. She is survived by her son, David K. Starr, and daughter-in-law, London Wilde, of Conroe, Texas; daughter, Tracey Stubbs, of The Woodlands, Texas; brother, Mike Brown, of Mountlake Terrace, Washington; granddaughter, Tawny Lara, of Jersey City, New Jersey; and her mother, Jackie Lara, of Waco, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins living in Washington and Virginia.
A gathering will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, Texas, 77384. Inurnment in Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery will immediately follow.
