Born on Monday, February 25, 1985, Jen was loved, cherished and adored by her large family. She is the daughter of Johnny and Barbara Foote, and a big sister to Jessica Appelt, Jamie Davis and John Robert Foote. They are her siblings by birth but were her best friends by choice. Jen was also the best sister-in-love to Clint Appelt, James Davis and Samantha Foote. Nicknamed JuJu by her nieces and nephews, Weston, Everett, Liam, Paul, Nora, Joanna, and Henry, she adored and loved them to distraction. Jen is the granddaughter to John and Flavia Foote and the late Robert and Rita Mitchell. She cherished her huge family, her numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She leaves behind her Partner of life, Natalie Wood and Natalie’s son, Maverick – Maverick held a very special place in Jennifer’s heart and they shared an indescribable bond.
From an early age Jennifer didn’t understand the meaning of “take your time” – she moved at her own pace. She was always the most lively and vibrant soul in the room and was so dedicated and persevering in the things she loved to do.
Jennifer was a graduate from Conroe High School and played on the golf team throughout her high school years. This gave her the opportunity to attend Sam Houston State University on an athletic scholarship. Her path eventually led her to the Aveda Institute in The Woodlands, Texas, and this is where the artist in her spread her wings and flew. After graduating from the Aveda Institute she stepped, with her very fashionable shoes of choice, into Clique Salon and magic happened. She made this her work-home for close to a decade and evolved into one of the most in demand stylists in the salon, a lead educator, cutting specialist and platform artist to surrounding cosmetology schools in the area. She was the recipient of many awards regarding her work ethic, team unity, best at servicing the guest and multiple MVP awards. She received so many awards that she had to be cut-off to give her other team members a chance! Jennifer was a very loved and cherished member of the Clique family. The impact she made on the culture of kindness is a testament, as it still lives on in the salon today. She was determined to make her guests look and feel beautiful and with Jen’s words and actions, guests left her chair glowing from the inside out.
Jennifer enjoyed spending time with her family, they were her first level of joy. She loved spending the day with her parents, family celebrations, and gatherings at Uncle Pete's house. Jen loved painting, creating her own sense of fashion and driving her beloved Jeep Wrangler. Jennifer just truly loved life and the people in it.
Jennifer was a beautiful creature – it started with her smile, to the tips of her ever-changing hair color, to her fashionable footwear and ended with her hug. She made people feel beautiful, cherished, needed, and loved. She was a gift to all of us and we are grateful and blessed to be a part of her beautiful, colorful world. So, when you see that hummingbird or cardinal from the corner of your eye, fluttering around, zooming from one flower to the next, take a moment to say “hey Jen, love you girl” before she flies away.
“Cancer does not care who it takes, who it hurts, or honor or love. It comes into your life and starts to break the threads that hold you and you are left to see pieces of yourself slip away and dreams fade…but then the end is when the most amazing thing happens, cancer loses its strength and grace appears. We need to see it. We accept it, and go with it. Grace and love win, not cancer." - Beth O’Rourke
“And then it happens. One day you wake up and you’re in this place where everything feels right. Your heart is calm. Your soul is lit. Your thoughts are positive. Your vision is clear. You’re at peace, at peace with where you’ve been, at peace with what you’ve been through and at peace with where you’re headed” – Author Unknown
“Jesus said to his disciples: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. You heard me tell you, “I am going away and I will come back to you” If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater that I” and now I have told you this before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe. I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over me, but the world must know that I love the Father and that I do just as the Father has commanded me”
John 14:27-31
