Jim Ba Nguyen

Jim was born in Longview, Texas to Nam Ba Nguyen and Lienoanh Thi Nguyen on June 19, 1981. He went to high school at Longview High school and graduated in 1999. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin in 2004.

He married Phin Dinh, his college sweetheart, on November 12, 2011 in Houston, Texas. On September 24, 2018, he welcomed his son Elias, who is the most important part of his life.

He had worked at Intel Corporation, JP Morgan Chase, Calpine Corporation, Invesco, Avanade, BlueLine Rental and most recently at Woodforest National Bank as a Data Integration Architect.

He was a beloved son, cherished brother and a devoted husband and father. He was an avid collector of Transformers and enjoyed taking walks through the toy isles to see if there was any new Transformers out. He was a problem-solver who often took on difficult projects both at work and home. He was a follower of Christian beliefs and believed in God. He enjoyed making people laugh and will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Nam Ba Nguyen; grandfathers, Ba Van Nguyen and Hoanh Ngoc Nguyen; and grandmothers, No Thi Quach and Cha Thi Do.

Jim is survived by his wife, Phin Dinh; his son, Elias Nguyen; his mother, Lienoanh Nguyen; his brothers and sister, Binh Nguyen, John Nguyen and Jennifer Nguyen.

A memorial service for Jim will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park - The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384, followed by a reception from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
