Giovanna "Jenny" (Conticchio) Todd, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 95. Born on November 28, 1929, in New York City, Jenny was one of six children and the proud oldest daughter of Italian immigrants Teresa "Tessie" and Joseph Conticchio.
At just 16, Jenny began her lifelong journey of hard work and perseverance with a position at Southern Bell (now AT&T). Her path took her from New York to Florida with her first husband, John Arthur Salamida, where she began building a beautiful family and a fulfilling career. Later, Jenny followed her daughters to Texas.
Jenny's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and hard work. In 1967, she married her second husband, Earle Delbert "Dell" Todd, and together they found joy in traveling and hosting family gatherings. The heart of their home was often the kitchen, where an Italian record played softly in the background as Jenny created cherished memories with her famous dishes, like macaroni and meatballs and pasta fagioli. Always on the move and always smiling, Jenny discovered a passion for ballroom dancing later in life, embracing it with the same energy and grace she brought to everything she did.
Jenny is survived by her devoted daughters, Joanne Salamida Parham (Stephen Parham) and Joy Salamida Clayton (Alan Clayton), who continue her legacy of unwavering love for family. She is also cherished by her beloved sisters, as well as her many nieces and nephews. Jenny's seven grandchildren - Josh Parham (Amy Parham), Chris Parham (Jaclynn Parham), Tessa Stuckey (Joseph Stuckey), Brooke Parham, Matt Clayton (Kelly Clayton), Christina Coy (Josh Coy), and Michael Clayton (Nadia Clayton) - were a constant source of pride. Her 14 great-grandchildren, Beau, Tripp, Heath, Jed, Kiley, Gracie, Oakland, Adaline, Luke, Grant, Owen, Moriah, Jude, and Peter, were the light of her life.
Jenny was preceded in death by her parents, Tessie and Joseph; her two brothers, Mikey and Angelo; and her cherished husband, Dell Todd. We take comfort in knowing she has been joyfully reunited with them, greeted by their warm embraces and endless love.
A celebration of Jenny's remarkable life will be held on Friday January 31, 2025 at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384, with a service at 2pm.
Jenny's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, inspiring us to love unconditionally, give generously, and find joy in the simple pleasures of life - especially a bowl of macaroni and meatballs.
God bless the cook!
