

John Joseph “Jack” Downey III, 75, of The Woodlands, TX, passed away February 23, 2010 in Conroe, TX. He was born February 11, 1935 in Patterson, NJ to the late John Joseph Downey Jr., and Helen Bergen Downey. Jack is also preceded in death by his sister Helene Cavaliere. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary-Ellen R. Downey; daughter Mary McKinney and husband Jay; son John Joseph Downey IV and wife Tara; grandchildren Jake and Tyler McKinney and Laura Downey; along with numerous other relatives that will miss him dearly.
Jack graduated from St. Bonaventure in 1957 with a BBA. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and a Marksman with the NRA. Jack retired from the U.S. Treasury in 1990 then continued performing background investigations with various U.S. government agencies, retiring in 2009.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, March 1, 2010 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church followed by burial in Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery.
