

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Tom, her sons Jason and Justin Elliott (Lindsay) of The Woodlands, TX, and daughters Allison Elliott of New York, NY, and Stephanie Elliott Downing (Casey) of Houston, TX, as well as her grandchildren William Downing, Saoirse Downing, and Robert Elliott, her brother Michael Buckley (Irene) of Brantford, Ontario and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Connie Buckley Winn.
Judi was born in Brantford, Ontario, Canada to Gerard and Mildred Buckley. She graduated high school in 1965 from St. John’s College in Brantford and then went on to study at the School of Nursing at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario and was a Registered Nurse. She also earned a Diploma in Public Health Nursing from The University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Judi worked for the Brant County Health Unit as a Public Health Nurse in Brantford before moving to the Rochester, New York area with her husband, where she worked for several years at a private medical practice. She and her family moved from the Rochester area to Chicago and from there to Thornhill, Ontario, finally settling in The Woodlands, Texas in 1991, where she was proud to become an American citizen in 1994. She was always very active in church and school-related activities involving her children. Known for her warmth, generosity, and love of good conversation, Judi was an extremely faithful Christian and passed her deep faith along to all her children and other family members.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in memory of Judi at St. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in The Woodlands, TX on Friday, February 12 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, https://www.svdphouston.org/.
