She was born in Hebbronville, Texas and lived her childhood in Laredo, Texas. She moved to Corpus Christi where she graduated from the Dougherty School of Nursing. Lamar met her husband Philip Willman in Corpus who was a pilot in the Navy. After she retired from nursing, she moved to Houston, Texas to be close to her family.
Lamar loved to travel, especially with family and friends. From Istanbul to cruising around Cape Horn, she explored the world. She enjoyed playing bridge and Mah Jongg. Her favorite pastime was going to the movies and theater. She also enjoyed meeting her brother and sisters for lunch or dinner.
Lamar is preceded in death by her husband Philip J. A. Willman; mother, Magdalena C. Flores; father, Gilberto R. Flores; sister, Rosalinda Guerra; and brothers, Gilberto M. Flores, Peter Flores and Paul Flores.
Mrs. Willman is survived by her daughter Monica (Mark) Avila; grandchildren, Colton Avila and Hannah Avila; brother Fred (Christy) Flores; and sisters Alma (Mario) Lugo, Ruby Tamez, and Patsy (Ricardo) Trevino. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
A funeral service for Lamar will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park - The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384. There will be a private family interment.
