Larry Edward Puckett, 75, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, in The Woodlands, TX. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Puckett and son, Justin Puckett. Larry is also survived by his siblings, Susan Sellers and Randy Puckett (Christy), his nephews Matthew Sellers (Cameron), David Puckett, and Jonathon Puckett, his great niece and nephew Kennedy Sellers and Austin Sellers, as well as his extended Poyner and McDonald family. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy Lee Puckett, and his brother, Terry Puckett.
Larry was born in Dyersburg, TN on September 10, 1949. He spent his formative years in Nashville, TN where he met his wife of 50 years, Sandra. With Sandra by his side, Larry proudly served in the U.S. Navy before earning his Civil Engineering degree from Tennessee Technological University. He crafted a remarkable 45-year career in power generation and power infrastructure where he shaped major infrastructure projects, and the power generation strategies for large cities and countries across the globe.
Larry will be remembered for his wisdom, work ethic, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He was passionate about golf, sports, music and travel and his time living in Indonesia sparked a lifelong appreciation for Southeast Asian culture. Despite his extensive travels, his happiest moments were spent surrounded by family—whether at the beach or pool, with music playing, and dancing with Sandra, or teaching his son and nephews how to master the Electric Slide.
Larry was caring, compassionate, fun-loving, loyal, and protective. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, and the patriarch of the Puckett family. His love, laughter, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held with friends and family on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Forest Park of The Woodlands, Woodlands, TX.
