

Lois Carpenter, 81, of The Woodlands, went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2010. She was born September 23, 1928 in Turney, MO to the late Roy Glen and Christine Walker. Lois is preceded in death by her sister Alice Kerr and son John Carpenter. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Sam Carpenter; sons Mark Carpenter and wife Janet, Kevin Carpenter and wife Lisa; daughter-in-law Twyla Carpenter; sisters Vivian Nelson and Glenna James; grandchildren Ross and Kelsie Carpenter; step-grandchildren Garrett Wilson, Jeremy Wilson and wife Danielle; step-great grandchildren Delaney and Katherine Wilson.
Lois graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Masters Degree in English. During her 30 year career as an education teacher, she taught Kindergarten through High School in Princeton, Bolckow and Maryville, special education in Maryville and adult education in Saudi Arabia, where she retired.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, April 26, 2010 at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. Funeral Services are set for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at The Woodlands Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 1202 N. Millbend Dr., The Woodlands, TX 77380. Graveside Services are set for 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 1, 2010 in Bolckow Cemetery, Bolckow, MO.
