Majoria (Jo) Lee Creekbaum, 85, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Jo was a long time resident of Murfreesboro, Tennessee where she worked as an administrative assistant at the Veterans Administration Hospital.
Jo was born to the late Marshall (Woody) Woodrow Dowd and Velma Mae Lee on Sept 6, 1934 in Dierks, Arkansas. She graduated from Foresthill High School in California and later received an Associate's Degree in Office Administration.
She was married to Robert L. Creekbaum in 1958, and they lived together for 62 years in California, Japan, Tennessee and Texas. Jo was preceded in death by her brother Lonnie Dowd and her daughter, Kimberli Gwaltney.
She is survived by her daughters, Kelli Roldan [Rodrigo], Kerri Hakala [Marc] and her grandchildren, Sarah Roldan, Sam Roldan, Sophie Roldan, Hunter Hakala and Houston Hakala.
Jo was a loving wife, mother and friend who selflessly gave her heart and soul to those she loved. Her faith in God and His almighty spirit was undeniable. She loved spending time with family and friends, attending church, travel and reading. She was a strong woman, and will be remembered most for her warm and caring heart, moral compass, encouraging nature, witty personality, delicious cooking and most of all, her laughter from a good corny pun or joke.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. The burial will take place at 2:15 p.m. at the Houston National Cemetery.
