Lynn was born in West Allis, WI on March 3, 1931, the middle child to John and Ann (nee Notheis) Huber. She grew up in the Milwaukee area, and it was there - while at a local dance with friends - she met Curt who would become her lifelong partner. They married on October 1, 1955, and built a beautiful life together, relocating their family numerous times across Wisconsin, Illinois and finally settling in Texas. They were each other’s best friends, celebrating nearly 65 years of marriage.
Lynn always had a flair for style and fashion. While raising her children, she enrolled in a couture class where she learned to skillfully sew a man’s suit. Her patience and talent as a seamstress grew, where she designed and crafted 4 exquisite bridal gowns for her daughters/daughter-in-law. She also spent many years in retail fashion, most notably as a stylist at a high-end boutique and as a manager at Liz Claiborne Petites.
Lynn had many other passions in life but her love for her family was her greatest. She was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren and never missed the chance to hold a baby or play with a toddler. Her compassion, humor and strength were always visible, as was her never-ending energy.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, parents and brother (Robert), those left to cherish her memory include her five children and their spouses: Kim Regnitz (Mark) of Bancroft, WI; Kay Helgerson (Jay), of The Woodlands, TX; Mark Richards (Patti) of Roanoke, VA; Kerry McClure (Mark) of The Woodlands, TX; and Scott Richards (Christine) of Spring, TX.; her twelve grandchildren: Brent Richards (Lucy), Nick Helgerson (Taylor), Connor Richards, Matthew McClure (Daniella), Alec Helgerson, Jack Helgerson, Cameron McClure, Dylan Regnitz, Nathan McClure, Trey McClure, Gabrielle Richards and Beckett Richards; and five great-grandchildren: Tobias, Castiel and Kaius Helgerson, Tatum McClure, and Charles (Beck) Richards. Lynn also leaves behind her sister, Nancy Grabow (Richard), her nephew Brian Grabow (Susie), and niece Julie Joers (Jason) along with several great nieces and nephews.
A private family Right of Committal Service is planned for Lynn at the Houston National Cemetery where she will be together again with her beloved Curt.
Rest in peace mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend…and may you be sewing again in heaven. We love you!
“Wherever a beautiful soul has been there is a trail of beautiful memories.” (Unknown)
The family would like to extend a sincere, heart-felt thank you to the staff at The Landing Memory Care who provided such loving care, as well as to the team from Devotion Hospice.
