Mary Sue Moore of The Woodlands, TX passed away at age 85 on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020 at home surrounded by her family having succumbed to a battle with liver cancer. She was born in Houston, TX on August 18, 1935.
She was raised in the area of town that we now call the “Historic Heights” in the 1930’s and 1940’s.
She had a highly accomplished career serving her family as a devout wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a full time home-maker who was a very organized and articulate planner and kept the house running smoothly for those whose lives revolved around her as the axis of the household’s existence.
The most important and impactful years of her life was spent as an active member of Calvary Church in the Sharpstown area where Mary Sue and Bill served in various ministerial capacities. Through the years they were members at Full Gospel Fellowship in Stafford, TX, and Evangelistic Temple and the last 18 years as members of The Woodlands Church.
Mary Sue and Bill’s favorite vacation spot was their home in South Fork, CO. If they were not there they were usually on the highway with their RV or their 5th wheel travel trailer.
Her many artistic talents displayed themselves with the excellence and perfectionism in her interior decorating, quilt making, oil painting, and her culinary talents which her family, friends, and church groups always enjoyed. They also enjoyed custom building and designing their vacation home in South Fork, CO. You could always anticipate that they were on the cutting edge with the latest board games or card games. If you wanted to get to know Mom… her love language was quality time while working on projects or playing games. A definite lover of cooking shows and HGTV.
Mary Sue was always passionate about her family, her dogs, her beloved church family and Bible study groups where she would often host or teach.
She had a sense of humor that never quit. Get her around the game table where the chatter and banter would start, you could depend on her cutting loose with humor and laughter.
Mary Sue is survived by her lifetime sweetheart and devoted husband, William W. Moore, of 66+ years; children, Patti S. Moore of Conroe, TX, and Matthew W. Moore (wife Alice Moore) of Tomball, TX; grandchildren and their families, Natalie Moore Kruse (husband Daniel) of San Antonio, TX, William Tyler Moore (wife Leeanne) of Cypress, TX, Justin Matthew Moore of San Francisco, CA, Thomas Cristerella of San Marcos, TX, and Daniel Cristerella of Tyler, TX; great grandchildren, Danny Kruse, Derek Moore, Juliette Kruse, Aaron Moore, Archer Kruse, and Atlas Kruse.
