Born on June 6, 1962 in Brooklyn, NY to Patrick and Mary Marra, Matt grew up in Willingboro, NJ along with his brother Joseph. His interests as a young man included baseball, oil painting, theatre, music and guitar. He was also an enthusiastic science fiction fan who loved super heros, Godzilla movies and action movies. Matt’s love for music remained with him throughout his life and he would later create his own music which he shared on Spotify and I-Tunes.
After graduating from college, Matt went on to pursue a Masters degree in Environmental Science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ and later, a Law degree from Seton Hall University in Newark, NJ. In 1990, he married the love of his life, Rita and together, they had 3 sons in the years to follow. Matt’s career took he and his family through many moves across the country but it was Texas where Matt and his family decided was their home so in 2018, Matt made a bold career change and moved his family back to The Woodlands.
Out of all the things that mattered most to Matt in life, nothing was more important to him than his family. He was an extraordinarily loving and devoted husband and father and always put his family first. His love for his wife Rita and their boys was abundantly evident to everyone that knew him. Matt was a deeply spiritual man who knew and loved Jesus and therefore it is no surprise that he has been welcomed into Heaven into the loving embrace of our Savior.
Matt is preceded in death by his mother Mary, his father Patrick and his brother Joseph. He is survived by his wife Rita and sons Luke, Gabriel and Andrew, nieces Catherine and Amanda and nephew Christopher as well as his aunt Theresa LoCascio and uncle Frank Rotondo.
