Mike was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 14, 1953. He graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School in Metairie, Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans. Mike had a rewarding career in the insurance industry for over 25 years in the Houston area.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael E. Kenny and mother, Janet Natal Kenny.
Mike had a passion for anything that had to do with his grandchildren and was lovingly referred to as “Whoopie Pie Paw Paw” as he always had them in hand for them.
He was an avid New Orleans Saints and LSU football fan and an excellent cook. He loved to make others laugh and was very good at it. He loved his friends and good times.
Mike was survived by the mother of his children and former spouse of 30 years, Joanne Meadows Kenny, along with his two loving children, Kyle Michael Kenny, Kelly Kenny Baker and his son-in-law, Ryan Baker. He had three grandchildren, Ryan Michael Tyler, Rylan Thomas Manger and Jacob Lane Baker. He leaves behind three sisters, Susan Waguespack (JJ), Kelly Raley (James) and Colleen Kenny with nieces and nephews, Jessica Waguespack Bouchon (Phillip), Scott Waguespack, Benjamin Burke, Emily Burke and great-nephew, Remy Bouchon and great-niece, Lily Bouchon and last, but not least, his beloved pets, Fritz and Ringo.
