Miguel Angel Pena was better known to his friends and family as Mike or Mikey. He was born and raised in McAllen, Texas to Ernesto and Aurora Pena on October 23rd, 1988. He is the only son out of three siblings. Older sister Maribel De Los Santos, and Melissa Pena or "Lil sis" as he would call her. He has countless cousins, aunts, uncles, and nephews as he came from a very large, loving family.
After leaving the Valley, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona for a time. There he had his very first baby girl Aubree Pena in 2011. He met his now wife Brittany Peña in 2015, they were married in December of the same year. Together they have three children, daughter Logann Rae, son Luke Owen, and daughter Landyn Reese. Through his marriage he gained a step daughter, Laylah Chavez, whom he loved as his own. He was an amazing father to all of his children, they were his whole world. He stopped at nothing to give them everything they needed and wanted.
He was passionate about going to the shooting range, loved all things tactical, and getting the perfect shot. His pastimes included cleaning and working on his guns all the time. He loved to cook out on the grill, surrounded by family and friends as they joked and made fun of each other. He loved playing with his kids as he was a big kid at heart. The house was frequently overrun with nerf gun fights, hide and seek, and wrestling matches. Most of all, a love and presence that will be greatly missed.
Mike tragically and unexpectedly went to be with Jesus on December the 12th, 2023 at 2:00 am.
Mike is preceded in death by his grandmother Consuelo B. Prieto, grandfather Alejo Garza, and grandfather Zaragoza Peña. Mike is survived by his parents Ernesto and Aurora Peña. His sisters, Maribel (Rene) De Los Santos and Melissa Peña. His wife Brittany Peña and his children Aubree Peña, Laylah Chavez, Logann, Luke, and Landyn Peña. Also, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and so many friends.
There will be a visitation for Miguel, Friday December 22, 2023 at 1:00PM, followed by a memorial service beginning at 2:00PM.
