

Milton Lewis Luikens passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012 in The Woodlands, Texas. Mr. Luikens was born on March 19, 1921, in Britton, South Dakota, to John and Elva Luikens and graduated from Jamestown College in Jamestown, North Dakota in 1942. He served in the Army Air Corps Pilot Training Program before being honorably discharged in 1945. He moved to Texas in the oil exploration business where he met his future wife, Lillie Mae Stern. They married in 1946 and settled in LaMarque, Texas, where he was employed by American National Insurance Company in Galveston. He retired in 1983 as Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer of SM & R, a mutual fund management company. He and his wife moved to The Woodlands, Texas, in 1998 and were active members of Lord of Life Lutheran Church.
Milton was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae Stern Luikens, his parents, and his sister, Shirley Luikens. He is survived by his three sons, Bob and wife Gayle of Sparta, Tennessee, Tom and wife Susan of Houston, Texas, Richard and wife Sue of Spring, Texas. Additionally he is survived by grandchildren, Lorie Leeson, Portland, Oregon, Jonathan Luikens, Spring, Texas, Melody Luikens, Spring, Texas, Emily and Dustin Einhaus, Cedar Park, Texas, Ryan and Brynn Luikens, San Antonio, Texas, and great grandson Jackson Blake Luikens. He is also survived by his brother Robert J. Luikens and wife Betty of Albuquerque, New Mexico as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are set for Sunday, December 9, 2012, at 2:00 pm at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in The Woodlands, Texas, with burial to be in Forest Park, The Woodlands cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Milton’s name be made to a charity of your choice.
