Moses was born in Aleppo, Syria to Khoren Ouzounian and Eliza Tabakian on February 5, 1935. He graduated from Aleppo College and immigrated to the United States. Here, he married his remarkable wife of 61 years, Meada Faye Jones on August 8, 1958. He was naturalized May 1, 1962, a day of pride given his great love for this country. That same year, he earned a BA in French from the University of Utah and went on to teach high school French and Math until 1971. He left teaching to pursue his work as owner of Shah N’ Shah Oriental Rugs. He was known as an authority in his field, and the business became a hub of activity and memories for his children and grandchildren. He was a tireless provider for his family, retiring in 2008, at the age of 73.
Moses is survived by his wife, Meada Ouzounian, his 10 children, his 63 grandchildren, his 40 great grandchildren, one sister and two brothers. Throughout his life, nothing was more important to Moses than his family. He is remembered for his love, generosity, physical strength, tenacity, honesty, intelligence and faith. Though our joy and hope are full in the knowledge of our Savior, Moses will be greatly missed as the head of our family, as our loving father and grandfather, and as a faithful husband.
