He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 26, 1946, to Clarence Albert and Sarah Elizabeth Crenshaw. He graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City. Growing up Phil was an Eagle Scout and one of the top tennis players in the state. He then went on to the University of Oklahoma where he earned a degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration. While attending OU he participated in ROTC and was commissioned as a lieutenant in the US Army.
His career started at Schlumberger as an Internal Auditor. After working for several years, he also earned a CPA. He then worked for many years at Cameron Iron Works where he once served as the Far East Controller in Singapore. He continued his career at Core Laboratories where he was a Corporate Controller until he retired in 2013.
Phil is survived by Marilyn his wife of 56 years. Also, his sons Phillip Todd and Brent Andrew and his grandson Noble Haze. He is also survived by his brother Carlton and wife Linda and his three daughters Collette, Christine and Catherine.
Phil will be remembered as a loving husband and father who was always there for his family. He helped coach many of their sports teams and always cheered from the stands. He was the best Pops to his grandson Noble. He loved teaching Noble to play tennis and golf and being with him as much as he could.
After he retired, he enjoyed many years of playing golf and tennis at The Woodlands Country Club with his many friends. And, of course, anyone who knew Phil knew how much he loved Oklahoma Sooners football!
He will be missed. May he rest in peace.
