Ronald Gene Pryde

Ron graduated from La Salle-Peru High School in 1951. Following graduation, he served 4 years with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In 1957 he married Jeanne Rizzo and they settled in San Diego, CA. Ron served 32 years as a proud member of the California Highway Patrol as a peace officer and later special duties as a liaison with the San Diego City School District transportation group. Many school bus drivers took their driving tests with Officer Ron. During this time Ron also went back to school and earned his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice.

After retiring from the CHP, Ron worked as a liaison with RoadOne Towing in San Diego. In 2002, Ron and Jeanne relocated to Conroe, TX to be closer to son, Randy.

Surviving in addition to Jeanne, his wife of 58 years, are his son, Randy Pryde, Conroe TX, his brother, Gerry Pryde and wife Marlene of San Diego, Sister-in-Law Fran Sarosinski, Brothers-in-law, Sonny and Tony Rizzo, all of North Central, IL and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being coordinated with Forest Park Funeral Home, The Woodlands, TX. Relatives, friends and neighbors are welcome to attend a funeral mass in his honor, Tuesday May 17th at 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 109 N Frazier St, Conroe, Texas 77301. Refreshments and food will be served in the church hall following the mass. Flowers can be sent directly to the church.
