Rosine was a selfless and loving pillar of her family. A devoted wife, nurturing mother, loving sister, and respected tax analyst, she placed her husband and children at the center of her life and gave of herself sacrificially to make sure those around her never lacked anything. She was deeply involved in her children’s lives, championing their sports and activities with unwavering encouragement. She welcomed others with open arms and treated friends like family, creating a home where people felt seen, fed, cared for, and valued. Organized, protective, and deeply intentional, Rosine brought structure, warmth, and steady love to her family life. She was also known for her honesty and strength, always willing to speak the truth, even when it was difficult. Her life was a beautiful reflection of generosity, grace, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Kenrik was a gentle, respectful, and remarkable young man whose life reflected both excellence and kindness. He was an exceptional honor roll student-athlete who distinguished himself on the varsity basketball courts at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, The John Cooper School, and Klein Oak High School. He excelled not only in sports, especially basketball, but also in academics, carrying himself with focus, discipline, and determination. Driven, well-rounded, and deeply admired, Kenrik was a true role model whose character, work ethic, and quiet strength set an example for others to follow. He was calm, loyal, and kind to everyone, and his humility and respect for others stood out just as much as his achievements. Whether through his magnetic smile, playful spirit, love of video games, high-fives, ping pong, or tennis, he brought warmth and joy to the people in his life. He will forever be remembered for his remarkable character and determination. With a bright future ahead, he hoped to become an orthopedic surgeon and use his gifts to help fellow athletes.
Together, Rosine and Kenrik shared a close and loving bond, and their passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of their family, friends, and community. Though their lives were far too short, they will be remembered with enduring love, deep gratitude, and cherished memories that will live on in all who knew them.
Rosine and Kenrik are lovingly remembered by their family, including husband and father Michel Kabano; daughter and sister Kelia Kabano; and youngest son and brother Kai Kabano. They also leave behind Lydia Kabano (mother-in-law and grandmother), Rosine’s siblings Rodriguez Gatebuka, Yves Mvunabandi, and Lyse Nizigama and their families, as well as Michel’s siblings. They are reunited in heaven with Rosine’s parents, Hussein Kimira and Venantie Umulisa, and Michel’s father, Alfred Kabano.
They will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
