

He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 10, 1987 to his parents, Cynthia and Scott Mulcahy. As his father was employed in the oil industry, the family moved frequently living additionally in Denver, CO, Dallas, TX, Melbourne and Perth, Australia, eventually settling in The Woodlands, where Ryan graduated from The Woodlands High School with the Class of 2006. Ryan then obtained a BS degree in Marine and Freshwater Biology from The University of Texas at Austin in 2010, and also attended Florida State University majoring in Underwater Crime Scene Investigation.
Ryan was passionate for everything related to the ocean, which led to a career in the Scuba Diving Industry. He is remembered as being friendly, knowledgeable, kind, helpful, charismatic and outgoing by the Scuba Diving Community, students, coworkers, friends, and family from all around the world. Ryan secured numerous licenses and certifications, maintaining the highest level possible, including his license as a 100-ton Master Boat Captain and PADI Master Scuba Diver Specialty Trainer Instructor and Dive Master/Rescue Diver. Ryan worked on over 25 boats as a captain or dive master and was well respected by many in The Scuba Diving and Boating Industry. Ryan has successfully certified over 750 new Scuba Divers and has over 1000 Completed Dives under his belt with a perfect Safety Record.
As a world traveler, Ryan visited over 35 countries including those in Central America, The Caribbean, Australia, Africa, Indonesia, Europe and The UK.
He is survived by his mother, Cynthia D’Elia Mulcahy of The Woodlands, TX. His brothers, Dr. Robert Mulcahy, Wife, Dr. Natasha Hirani, and their son, Shaan, of Friendswood, TX; and Kevin Mulcahy, Wife, Becca Mulcahy, and their son, Brycen of Tomball, TX; Maternal Grandmother, Maxine D’Elia of Vero Beach, FL; Numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins
Ryan was preceded in death by his Father, Scott Mulcahy, Maternal Grandfather, Andrew D’Elia, and Paternal Grandparents, Robert and Ethel Mulcahy.
Ryan was dearly loved by his family and had a special bond with his two nephews. He will be greatly missed by all.

A celebration of life for Ryan will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384, followed by a catered reception from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
