

Sherry Ann Newbury, a beloved daughter, sister, mother and grandmother, was born on August 1, 1951, in Houston, Texas, and was called to her heavenly home on September 5, 2017. She grew up in Houston, attending Sam Houston High School, where she was a member of the Sam Houston Houstonettes. Dedicated to being a wonderful mother, she raised three children in the Houston area and was involved in their many activities. She was known as “Nana” to her grandkids and enjoyed spending time whenever she could with all of them. She always offered a helping hand to friends and family. Sherry spent most of her life in Houston, and later in her life living with her daughter near family in Seguin and Belton, and finally this year moving to the Dallas area near her eldest son’s family. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and spending time at family events and grandkids’ activities.
Sherry is survived by her son, Wes Dalton; his wife, Erika; and grandkids, Mia, Emma and Ava; her son, Brent Dalton, his wife Kinsey; and grandkids, Madison, Alan, Molly, John, and Parker; and her daughter, Cara Dalton. She is also survived by her brothers, Fred Newbury Jr, Larry Newbury Sr. and Dale Newbury; and their families as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her greatly. She was proceded in death by her parents, Fred Newbury Sr. and Ethel Newbury.
Family and friends are asked to join us for a service to remember Sherry on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Forest Park Funeral Home & Cemetery in The Woodlands, Texas. Following the service, family and friends are invited for a reception in the Forest Park Event room from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.
