

Charles Todd Nicholson born November 14, 1957, was privileged to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as he passed from this world on February 22, 2022. Todd was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to parents, Barbara and Charles Nicholson.
Todd attended Belen High School. He was the center for the football team and loved everything about the game. Todd was also on his High School Golf team. He excelled in golf and actually got picked to play against Nancy Lopez in a tournament. He liked to tell the story, except for the part where she beat him. Growing up Todd enjoyed racing go-carts. His mom loaded up the go-cart and gasoline can in the trunk of her car and off they would go to Albuquerque. Todd loved to tell stories about his racing days. His favorite story was telling about the race with Al Unser Jr. because he won.
Todd was a DeMolay and served in a variety of state offices. Later in life he served as a Mason.
Todd attended Eastern New Mexico University, where he majored in Geology. He made friends quickly and joined the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He held several leadership positions and thoroughly enjoyed the brotherhood, he had with the S.A.E. Todd was passionate about intramural sports and the Greek Games, even receiving the honor of Greek God. It was at ENMU where Deena and Todd found each other. After a four-year courtship and graduation, they were married in 1979.
It was in 1980, Todd began a very successful career as a Geophysicist. He and Deena left New Mexico and headed to Jackson MS., where Todd would start working for Cities Service Oil and Gas. Those years were full of great friends, to this day known as the “Oil Patch Family.” The greatest joy in his life was the birth of Jessica (1981) and Brenton (1984) in Jackson. After transferring a few more times, Houston became home.
Todd lived retirement large. He was an avid golfer and was always happy to plan golfing trips with his buddies. Most recently the trip to Bandon Dunes, was a Bucket List trip for him. Todd had a unique ability to draw people in with his beautiful smile and his witty sense of humor. Todd was one of the founding members of the ROMEO Club. (Retired Old Men Eating Out)
Deena and Todd had an agreement that they would strive to live the dash. They worked hard, traveled, and played hard. They never stopped dating. After they both retired, they started a new dating tradition. “Tuesday Tours,” That was their day to visit some of the hidden gems in and around Houston. They were always spotted holding hands and enjoyed living the dash for 46 years.
Todd loved traveling the country with Brenton. They enjoyed new sights and golfing along the way. Jessica and Toddy had that special Daddy Daughter relationship. Known as Falling Star and Falling Rock in Indian Princess, things did not change much as they grew older. Todd was always her biggest encourager and her rock.
Jackson and Toddy enjoyed watching Golf and the Dallas Cowboys. They were great golfing buddies. Jack will miss Toddy giving him a ride to and from 7th grade. Maddie always enjoyed bike rides, treasure hunts and watching movies with Toddy.
Todd loved going to see his mother and sister in Oklahoma. The family ranch holds such fond memories and good times. The kids enjoyed going fishing and four wheeling with Toddy.
Todd’s family and friends will always remember his big bear hugs, gentle smile, and his kind and generous heart for people. Todd was ordained as a Deacon at The Woodlands First Baptist church and enjoyed serving on several committees over the years. One of his biggest passions was teaching and mentoring the youth.
*The family would like to express their gratitude to all of you for your support. It is very humbling to know there were so many prayer warriors fighting for our Toddy. The bravest warrior was Todd as he fought for his life. He was so strong and every hospital visit showed his fight.
Todd is survived by his wife Deena, his son Brenton, his daughter Jessica and husband Brandon Brame. His grandchildren Jackson Brame and Maddie Brame. His mother Barbara Nicholson of Bokchito, OK and his sister Charlotte Young of Bokchito, OK. Several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers it is requested that memorials be made to The Woodlands First Baptist Church Deacon Benevolence Fund.
A celebration of life will be held at The First Baptist Church of The Woodlands, 11801 Grogans Mill Road, The Woodlands, Texas 77380, on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 12:00pm. All men are welcome to wear golf shirts in honor of Todd’s love of the game.
