

WARREN LESLIE DAVIS, 86, died Sunday, October 2, 2011 in The Woodlands, Texas. Mr. Davis was born in Horton, Kansas, April 21, 1925 and moved to El Reno, Oklahoma as a small child and attended El Reno Schools. He was a B.S. graduate of Tulane University of Louisiana, class of 1948 and a Life Loyal member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. A WW-II U. S. Navy V-12 student, he was commissioned from the Tulane University NROTC program and served as a line officer on the US Navy Cruiser Cleveland in the North Atlantic and on the US Navy Aircraft Carrier Tarawa in the South Pacific. Mr. Davis was a retired Conoco Geophysicist after 27 years of service in a number of professional and management assignments including Conoco/Dupont Exploration Coordinator, Area Geophysical for Latin American, and a pioneer in the oil exploration of the Gulf of Mexico for Conoco. He was a member of the Geophysical Society of Houston for over 50 years and held a Silver Certificate in the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.
Mr. Davis was active in many church organizations and served on the Church Council at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in The Woodlands. He was preceded in death by his parents, William L. Davis and Queen E. Davis of El Reno, Oklahoma and his brother Sam V. Davis of Dodge City, Kansas.
Survivors are his loving wife of 63 years Margie; sons, Larry Davis and his wife Marie, Craig Davis and his wife Robin, Brent Davis and his wife Pat; grandchildren, Lisa Sheldon and husband Billy, Ryan, Matthew, Kelly Herbert and husband Nick, Patricia Vogel and husband Robby, Sandy Mobley and husband Chris, Blake Davis and wife Keri; great grandchildren, Alex, Jenny, Kyleah, Tyler, Corbin, and Parks.
Friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 9191 Cochrans Crossing Dr. The Woodlands, TX 77381. Interment will be in El Reno, Oklahoma.
