Joseph Palmer

Palmer, Joseph Dale March 14, 1922 - September 22, 2011. Age 89 years. Beloved husband of Gunvor (nee Nelson). Loving father of Patricia (Paul) Mandella, Meri-Jo (Dennis) Adamek, David Palmer and the late John Palmer. Dear grandfather of Kenneth (Christine) Meyer, Tiffani (Joe) Eberle, Shane Stadler, Nicole (Dean) Wheaton, Christa Mandella, Robin Palmer, Aurora Palmer and the late Michael Meyer. Further survived by 12 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joe was a Medic in the U.S. Army during WWII serving from 1942-1946. He had been an employee of Sealtest Dairy, Friendship Village and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He also owned a painting business. Joe was a jazz enthusiast and played trumpet for The Five Peppers in high school and a band in Stevens Point before the war. Special thanks to the nurses and medical staff at St. Mary's Ozaukee Hospital, to the nurses Pauline, Donna and Ashley at Newcastle Place, and to Dr. Luke Rehrauer for their care and attention. Visitation Monday, September 26, 10 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Funeral Service at 12 NOON; followed by Military Honors. Inurnment at Wisconsin Memorial Park at a later date.
