Barbara Ann Pope Johnson

Mrs. Johnson was born in Randolph County, July 20, 1945, a daughter of Ernest Jarvis Pope and Bertha Mae Sheffield Pope. Barbara was employed by NC Carolina Ceramic Supply for several years and a member of Heath Church in Lexington. She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Johnson; a sister, Lindy Lewis and a brother, Harvey Pope.

Surviving are her husband, Richard Johnson; a daughter, Connie Jean Johnson; two sons, Butch Johnson and wife Cathi and Michael Johnson; step-daughter, Christy Boles and her husband Donald; a step-son, Richie Johnson and wife Sherry; four sisters, Lorraine Hicks, Betty Davis, Beulah Amstuck and Sarah Nealey; a special granddaughter, Misty Gordon and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Heath Church, 1375 Heath Church Rd., Lexington by Pastor Dan Downing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Thomasville Funeral Home Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m.
