

A resident of this area most of her life, Mrs. Baugus was born on March 14, 1936 in Rowan County to the late Roy Allen and Bertha Mae Chaffin. She was of the Baptist faith and an avid UNC Tarheel fan. She had worked for many years at Stamey’s BBQ, Henry James BBQ, and Colonial Country Club. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and was a wonderful mother and Mawmaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Ann Allred and her brother, Henry Ford Chaffin.
Surviving are her children, Tammy Ingram and her husband Johnny of Thomasville, Sherry Routh and her husband Charles of Martinsville, VA, and Randy Baugus of High Point; four grandchildren, Steven Ingram and his wife Mallory, Cameron Routh, Zachary Routh, and Jaron Baugus; one great grandson, Jackson Routh; and her sister, Carolyn Hyder of Archdale.
A celebration of Mrs. Baugus’ life will be held at 2pm Wednesday in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street, with the Reverend Dr. Robert U. Ferguson, Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow in the Floral Garden Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 12 pm until 2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Tammy Ingram, 701 Briles Street, Thomasville.
