Mr. Hilton was born on May 2, 1924 in Guilford County to Emaskie Marvin Hilton and Leslie Morgan Hilton. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the U. S. Army in France, England, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was married to Nancy Lucas who died in 2007. He loved to garden and loved growing flowers. He also loved to farm and raise cattle. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Vance Hilton of Randleman, Roy Hilton of High Point and Coy Hilton of High Point.
Surviving are daughters: Betty Ann Curry and husband Leon of Lexington, Frances Sue Beck and husband Barry of Lexington, Nancy Carolyn Shockley and husband Donnie of Dobson; brothers, Lester Hilton of High Point, Herman Hilton of Summerfield, Wade Hilton of Montgomery, Alabama; five grandchildren, Darrell Gallimore of Denton, Cynthia L. Wright and husband Tom of Anderson, Alaska, Travis Wayne Curry of Lexington, Ashley Johnson and husband Scott of Lexington and B. J. Beck and wife Heather of Lexington; four great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 9, 2010 prior to the funeral service from 12 – 2 PM. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday at Thomasville Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor David Bowman. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
