Donald was born on December 18, 1944 in Winston-Salem, a son of Charlie Arthur and Mary Lois Jones Bovender. He was retired form Rowan vocation opportunities and was an ordained minister.
Donald is survived by a son David R. Bovender, a daughter Debbie R. Bovender Lang, his wife Marie Bovender, 3 step-daughters, Lisa Shell & husband Keith, Leighann Doby and husband Chris and Lori Livengood & husband James, 2 step-sons, Michael Cox & wife Judy and Paul Cox & wife Rae, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, a brother Jimmy E. Bovender, 2 sisters, Gloria J. Cockerham & husband Jim and Glenda K. Edwards & husband Charlie as well as by many nieces & nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home.
