Ethel Kennedy Jones

Born on December 27, 1923 in Orange County to Robert Lee Kennedy and Pearl Burkhart Kennedy.

Preceded in death by her parents and husband Norman K. Jones, Sr., sisters; Nona Everhart, Edith Albright, Carrie Hedrick, brothers; Alonzo Kennedy, Rufus Kennedy and Parker Kennedy.

Ethel was married on August 3, 1946 to Norman K. Jones, Sr. in Mocksville, NC for 65 years. Retired from Carolina Underwear after 25 years of service. Ethel was a member of Emanuel Reformed Church for 80 years. She loved to work in her garden and was the best cake baker in the world. Ethel was a loving Mother, adoring grandmother and great grandmother.

Ethel is survived by daughter, Charlotte Jones Buser of High Point, NC; son, Norman Kermit Jones, Jr. and wife Edwina of Lexington, NC; granddaughters, Lisa Buser Grant and husband Michael of Kings Mountain, NC, Angela Jones Parks and husband Jeremy of Lexington, NC; grandson, Norman Kermit Jones, III (Trey) of Lexington, NC; grandson, Caleb Anthony Jones of Cherokee, NC; 4 great grandchildren, Abigail Parks, Nathan Parks, Madeline Parks, and Anderson Parks and great great-grandchild Bentley Herring and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 pm at Emanuel Reformed Church followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Rickey Payne and Reverend Vernon Richmeier officiating followed by interment in the church cemetery.
